The objective of the Nepal Readiness Preparation Program is to prepare Nepal to engage in and benefit from the REDD+ program within the context of the international climate negotiations of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). As mentioned in the previous paragraph, Nepal is working on the REDD+ readiness and this entails developing a number of steps in order to get the Government of Nepal in a position to manage REDD + policies and activities. Over the past two years a number of steps have been completed and Agriconsulting supported one of these regarding the setting up of a pilot MRV.
